Ribbed Eyelet Knit Dress
Also available to try in our Madrid boutique — Calle Libertad 6
A ribbed knit dress in black, fitted through the bodice with a delicate eyelet pattern woven throughout, flaring into a soft trumpet hem finished with scalloped lace trim. A wide scoop neckline and cap sleeves keep the silhouette clean and graphic.
The dress skims the body through the waist and hip before releasing into fluid movement below the knee, landing at a floor-grazing maxi length.
Handmade in Japan, the piece reflects the label's signature blend of traditional textile technique and contemporary silhouette.
Color: Black • Ribbed eyelet knit • Wide scoop neckline • Cap sleeves • Fitted bodice with trumpet hem • Scalloped lace trim at hem • Machine washable on gentle cycle
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Mame Kurogouchi is a Tokyo-based ready-to-wear label founded in 2010 by designer Maiko Kurogouchi. The name comes from "mame," meaning bean in Japanese and also the designer's childhood nickname. After training at Bunka Fashion College and working in the Issey Miyake studio, Kurogouchi built a label devoted to preserving Japanese textile craft, working closely with rural artisans across the country to develop fabrics and techniques found nowhere else. Her collections are largely autobiographical, drawing on her travels through Japan and a deep connection to its vintage textiles, ceramics, and paintings. The result is clothing that feels both quietly poetic and technically exacting — fluid silhouettes built from deceptively intricate construction.
