Also available to try in our Madrid boutique — Calle Libertad 6

This Olympia Le-Tan book clutch is based on The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway, with cover illustration by Jenny Zemanek. The front cover is hand-embroidered in silk thread and felt appliqué on a teal cotton ground, faithfully rendering Zemanek's bold typographic design — the monumental lettering, the lone fisherman on the water, the wave scrolls, and the leaping marlin — each element built up stitch by stitch. The back cover carries a second embroidered marlin outline alongside the edition number and illustrator credit.

The clutch is constructed around a gold-tone stainless steel frame, opens via a kiss-lock clasp, and is lined in a unique printed fabric interior — the lining you receive may differ from the images shown.

This is a numbered limited edition of 77. Once the edition is complete, it will be permanently retired.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Olympia Le-Tan is a Parisian fashion house founded in 2009 around a single idea: transforming beloved books, artworks, and cultural references into hand-embroidered clutches. Each clutch is hand-embroidered by artisans, a process that can take up to 300 hours, then mounted onto frames, lined, and assembled to create a truly unique piece. Every design is produced in a limited edition of 77, individually numbered, and permanently retired once the edition is complete.
