Bibi van der Velden

Born in New York and educated in England and the Netherlands, Bibi studied Fine Art in Florence, Italy, before perfecting her technique at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. Bibi now creates jewelry and sculptures in her Amsterdam studio. Bibi's Dutch heritage can be seen in her jewelry, as the country's extensive artistic history is one of the many influences on her work.

Working with sustainable and unexpected materials, including 60,000-year-old mammoth tusks, ostrich eggs, and beetle wings, Bibi hand-draws and carves each piece in wax. Bibi describes her jewelry pieces as "miniature sculptures".
